In order to study the different weed control methods on growth, agronomical traits of rainfed and yield of chickpea in autumn, an experiment conducted at research farm of Sararood Dryland Agricultural Research Institute, for two years 2021-2023. The experiment was as factorial, based on randomized complete block design with four replications. The experimental factors were included two autumn sowing dates: (1- sowing before the effective rainfall and 2- sowing after the effective rainfall in autumn) and different weed controls with five methods including (control: no weeding, manual weeding, Treflan+Gallant Super herbicides, Treflan+ mechanical control, Treflan+ Gallant Super+ mechanical control). In this study sowing before the effective rainfall in autumn improved the vegetative growth, yield attributes and seed yield. Based the results, seed yield increased by 17.9 and 17.11% before the effective rainfall in autumn, during the first and second years as arrangement. Also, comparison of different weed control methods showed that the maximum characters achieved by weed manual method. Seed yield increased by 64.2 and 95.5% by manual method in first and second year in comparison with control. Based the obtained results, sowing before the effective rainfall in autumn and weed manual methods recommended. Also, application of Treflan (pre-sowing) and Gallant Super (post-emergence) herbicides and mechanical control (between rows) recommended to control weeds as replacement of manual weeding methods in high labor cost condition.
