Abstract:   (1338 Views)
By covering the soil, mulches can be effective in maintaining moisture, balanced soil temperature, reducing weed populations and preventing soil erosion and improve plant growth. In order to evaluate the effect of different mulches (non-application, wheat straw, living mung bean, white plastic and black plastic) and sowing method (furrow, ridge and flat cultivation) on the activity of some enzymes (catalase, ascorbate peroxidase, peroxidase), malondialdehyde, soluble carbohydrate content and the amount of cytoplasmic protein in sunflower, a factorial experiment was conducted in the form of a randomized complete blocks design with three replications in the flowering stage in the summer of 2018 in Bavi city of Khuzestan. Analysis of variance showed that the interaction of all traits except cytoplasmic proteins and catalase was significant. Analysis of variance showed that the interaction effects of all traits except for cytoplasmic proteins and catalase were significant. The highest and lowest cytoplasmic proteins were obtained by the use of black and white plastic mulch, respectively. The highest and the lowest concentrations of catalase enzymes were observed in sowing method of furrow and ridge, respectively. The maximum and minimum concentrations of ascorbate peroxidase, peroxidase and malondialdehyde enzymes were different in the treatment compounds. The highest amount of cytoplasmic protein and catalase activity were obtained by applying black plastic mulch and culture in the furrow, respectively. The highest amounts of malondialdehyde and soluble carbohydrates were obtained by planting on the ridge and not using mulch. The highest ascorbate peroxidase activity and the lowest peroxidase activity were observed in furrow planting and mung bean living cover.
