This study was conducted to investigate the effects of humic acid and salicylic acid on germination performance and early growth characteristics of sugar beet cultivars under salinity stress. A two-factor factorial experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with three replications in two separate environments, including a laboratory and a greenhouse, at the Faculty of Agriculture, Shirvan, University of Bojnord, in 2025. Experimental treatments consisted of seed priming at five levels (non-primed control, hydropriming, humic acid, salicylic acid, and a combination of humic acid and salicylic acid), salinity at three levels (0, 50 mM, and 150 mM NaCl), and four cultivars (Jolge, Mahshad, Jam, and Torbata). Laboratory results demonstrated that seed priming significantly enhanced germination indices. The combined humic acid + salicylic acid treatment produced the highest germination rate, germination percentage, radicle length, and plumule length. In the priming × salinity × cultivar interaction, the highest germination percentage (82.4%) was observed in the Torbata cultivar under non-saline conditions with the combined priming treatment, whereas the lowest value (59.97%) occurred in the Mahshad cultivar under 150 mM salinity without priming. Greenhouse results indicated that humic acid priming resulted in the maximum leaf area; however, the combined humic acid + salicylic acid priming significantly increased leaf number, leaf dry weight, and root dry weight compared with the other treatments. Increasing salinity levels led to a marked decline in all measured growth traits. Overall, the findings suggest that combined humic acid and salicylic acid priming, particularly in the Torbata cultivar, can substantially improve germination performance, early seedling vigor, and tolerance to salinity
