This study aimed the to investigate the feasibility of cultivation and comparing different Iranian and foreign cultivars of soybean in rotation with sugarcane in the climatic conditions of southern Ahvaz in Research and Training Institute of Sugarcane Development Co. in 2022. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Experimental treatments included 7 soybean cultivars (Iranian cultivars including Katol, Saland and SK-93 and foreign cultivars including BRS391, BRS284, BRS511 and BRS232). The studied cultivars were significantly different from each other in most of the traits. The results showed that in terms of the length of the ripening period, Saland, Katol and BRS391 cultivars are in the same ripening group and are considered early maturing compared to other cultivars. The results of yield traits also showed that BRS232 cultivar had the highest seed yield with an average of 2240 kg/ha among soybean cultivars, which was significantly different from other cultivars. The high seed yield of BRS232 variety can be attributed to the biomass yield (5950 kg/ha), harvest index (38%), and the weight of 1000 seeds (180 g) above this variety. Based on the obtained results, it seems that among the studied cultivars, BRS232 shows a better adaptation to the climatic restrictions (temperatures above 50° and high relative humidity) of South Khuzestan, and therefore it can be considered as a suitable option for crop rotation with sugarcane.
